Who we are

About MASS

The Motor Accident Solicitors Society is a membership organisation dedicated to representing the interests of road traffic accident victims across the UK.

As a non-profit organisation formed in 1991, MASS unites legal experts with the shared mission of promoting efficient and effective legal advice rooted in the highest standards of service.

Our primary objective is to promote the best interests of motor accident victims. We also strive to enhance our members’ expertise, fostering their knowledge and efficiency in managing road traffic accident claims to ensure justice and fairness for those affected.

MASS is resolute in our commitment to justice, continually reviewing substantive law and court procedures, supporting test cases and actively combating fraud.

What we do

Our work

MASS is steadfast in championing high standards across the industry. We’re more than just a membership society; with a strong and active policy arm lobbying to protect the rights of accident victims, we work collaboratively with Government entities, insurers and rehabilitation centres to ensure the fairest outcomes.

Our members offer expert legal advice and support to the victims of road traffic accidents to help them progress their claims and achieve fairness, justice and closure. We also offer crucial guidance to the public and activities that facilitate our members’ continuous professional development.

Our partnerships with road safety charities and other organisations amplify MASS’ reach and commitment to road accident victims.

Why we do it

Our values

Our values reflect our core principles and our mission to support road traffic accident victims and drive positive change across the industry…

We’re committed to representing the interests of road traffic accident victims with absolute dedication, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.

We maintain strong, transparent relationships with relevant industry organisations, fostering collaborative partnerships that enhance our ability to support accident victims.

Understanding the emotional and physical toll of road traffic accidents on victims, we strive to provide a sensitive and caring approach in all our interactions with them.

We promote high standards and continuous professional development, organising regular events and offering guidance to enhance our members’ proficiency in road accident claims.

We’re a diverse membership society that believes in equality and inclusivity, fostering a sense of community and belonging among our members and stakeholders.

We continuously review and adapt to changes in substantive law and are unafraid to support test cases that will benefit motorists, keeping us at the forefront of legal advancements.

A proven track record

Our history

Since 1991, the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS) has been your champion if you’ve had a road traffic accident. We’ve spent over 30 years making sure you get expert legal advice easily.

Things have changed a lot over the past three decades – rules and processes have had many updates, and legal costs are fixed. Our member solicitors have worked hard to keep up, ensuring they still provide a top-notch service to you.

MASS has grown too, becoming the go-to voice for road accident claims. We’re always in the essential discussions, making sure your side of the story is heard when laws and policies are changed or made. We fight tirelessly for your right to justice and a fair compensation system.

The battle continues, and MASS is leading the charge, ensuring you can still claim what’s rightfully yours after an accident. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but there’s more to do—and we’re all in, for you.
